Join the Militia: (interactive, audience participation, demonstrations)
What was the provincial, and later, state militia? Laws, part-time soldiers, effectiveness in battle and scouts, weapons demonstration(s), marching & maneuvering, mock skirmish; **an all-day arrangement may include a mock frontier raid involving audience members**
First Person – Conrad Weiser, Jr: Life in Schoharie Valley [young man] or biographical [older man]
First Person – Composite “Palatine” Person: a different perspective than the traditional tale of the Palatine experience in the Schoharie Valley
Other first person perspectives performed at various events include: Turncoat Loyalist Capt. George Mann, Schoharie Mohawk War Captain Seth’s Henry, Schohary District, 15th Regt. Albany County Militia Colonel Peter Vrooman.
